It is true that protein is an important part of your hair and nails, so when you lack it both of them can become brittle over time. Few months of not eating proteins can lead to hair loss and may not be as thick as they used to be, because the body shuts down the hair growth to preserve proteins.

Feeling Weak

People who aren’t eating enough protein looks sluggish and tired than usual. Protein being an important part of haemoglobin helps in transporting oxygen throughout the body. Low-level of oxygen causes weakness or shortens of breath.

Weak Bones

Bones not only need enough amount of calcium but also needs a healthy dose of proteins too. A protein-rich diet can protect you from injuries like fractures and breaks. Experts say that when our body is not getting enough protein it borrow from other areas like storage in our skeletal muscle tissue. That makes our skeletal tissue susceptible to injuries.

Losing Weight From Muscles

Your scale on weighing machine may tickle downwards but that is not always a good thing. Just because people who lack proteins, their bodies will break muscles to get more of it. And losing a muscle lead to change in body composition in an adverse way.

Always Catching Cold

Experts say that protein is building blocks of antibodies which are produced by the body’s immune system. And lack of it means a compromised immune system that makes you more prone to foreign invaders like bacteria and virus. You tend to be more ill than usual.
