This Indian spice mix is used in a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Basically, it is a mix of Indian spices stored in the air-tight box to be used while cooking. Indians have grown up making and eating dishes containing garam masala. The strange thing about this spice mix is that there is no fixed recipe for it. It is generally prepared as per the taste and liking of household individuals. And only the thing every Indian agrees on is, home-made garam masala is better than store bought masala. 

Whichever is your preference, this masala is the most loved spice mix of Indian kitchen and has various health benefits. Just because there is no standard recipe for garam masala, the benefits vary accordingly. Some of the common ingredients used are cinnamon, cumin, cloves, peppercorn, nutmeg, bay leaves and cardamon.
